Territory Friday Favorites: Maggie Guterl's Playlist

Territory Friday Favorites: Maggie Guterl's Playlist

Have you ever wondered what your favorite runners listen to? We have, so we decided to ask!

Ultrarunner Maggie Guterl has an impressive running resume: she was the first female to win outright at Big's Backyard Ultra in 2019, covering 250 miles in 60 hours! She also has some impressive musical taste and we asked her to share her favorites and tell us a little bit about how she uses music as a tool to help her running.

"Music during a run can turn a low moment into your best moment. I like to choose songs that help me keep a specific cadence. Some songs make me run faster and some make me run steady and controlled. Music can also take me out of my head on long runs or those dark moments in long races. I am super picky about what I listen to while I run.  For example, I love Nirvana but can't listen to them while I am running. It's got to have that certain wave that just moves your feet along. Kurt rocks but I save him for the road trips. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with any Bonobo song. I chose two here. I hope your feet feel moved by all the songs on this playlist."
