Meet the Territory Run Staff

To celebrate our 5 year anniversary, myself, the Territory Run staff and our great friend and photographer, Steven Mortinson, met up for a sunrise run on one of our favorite trails in the Columbia River Gorge, Angels Rest.

The best part of Territory Run over the last 5 years has been the people we have met along the way. It just so happens the Territory Run staff have come out of that trail running community and it makes a huge difference to have our entire team immersed in trails and running.

And now, when you are emailing one of us you can put a face to the name.

Aly, our customer service extraordinaire has been with Territory since September 2017 and has been making it a pleasure for all of our customers to get their questions and requests answered. She does it with a smile even though you can't see it. I get emails all the time from customers saying how awesome it is to communicate with Aly.  I met Aly when we both worked at local Portland running shop, Foot Traffic.

What Aly is digging right now:

"I'm really enjoying running without a watch and not tracking distance right now.
Favorite running book: Running your First Ultra, by Krissy Moehl.  I read it after I'd run a couple ultras, but still loved all the insightful content.
Dream Running Adventure: Grand Canyon R2R2R, Tahoe Rim Trail, Tour du Mont Blanc

Brett, myself, the founder of Territory Run. It has been an awesome 5 years and I want to thank you all for being a part of the journey!

What I am digging right now:

The mental component of running and life.  It's really all about perspective, what we choose to tell ourselves is true that makes the difference and I am learning this more and more all the time.
I am looking forward to getting back into running after a several month hiatus. I plan to get back into racing with a local trail half marathon in June, the White Salmon Backyard Half Marathon.

Thomas, our Warehouse and Fulfillment Manager started with Territory in November 2018 and has been bringing a world of organization to our warehouse.  I first connected with Thomas over email when he was a customer living in Alaska. I remember he mentioned that he and his family were moving to the Portland area and shortly after they became a big part of the trail running community here.

What Thomas is digging:

Favorite distance to run: 1/2 marathon - 25k, Long enough to be worth a drive but short enough to go hard the whole time.
Favorite running book: Shoe Dog (kind of a running book) I found extremely fascinating to see how Nike began.
How I get through the hardest miles of a run: Run with friends and just latch onto the heels of someone faster than me. (Shoutout to Stephanie Imig)
Dream running adventure: Territory’s TMB trip with Run the Alps. We just bought a house so it won’t happen this year but I’m all in on 2020.

Larissa, our Social Media Manager is our newest addition to the team and is already making a huge improvement to our social platforms. She is bringing great new initiatives and conversations to our feed so be on the lookout.  I first got to know Larissa when she came to our retreat in Hood River, Oregon a few years back then joined us for our Goonies Run which was her very first 50k. We didn't know this until about mile 10 of the run. She crushed it by the way.

What Larissa is digging:

Favorite distance to run - 50k
Favorite running book - Born to Run
Most important running tip - Don't lose sight of why you started running in the first place, and if it stops bringing you happiness, take a break!
Dream running adventure - UTMB was my dream running adventure that came true last year, and is still my dream running adventure. I would do it every single year if I could.

Here's to the next five years!
